Knowing what we know, we would probably have stepped out of our time machine to make sure that Brendan Eich kept the Scheme-based syntax and added semantic HTML enrichment for styling, sparing untold grief over the last generation...

Is it Turing-complete yet? Seems close, but I've lost track.

That was... kind of expected. But the web of cross-interests in the content industry just got another trans-dimensional knot in its topology...

I’m really happy I padded out one of my home servers with 128GB of DDR4 a couple of years back. I am, however, quite sad that I missed the opportunity to do the same to a newer one…

I spent a while looking at trading algos a few years back (partly because of quant stuff I got involved in, and partly out of curiosity). I found that none of the “slow” trading (i.e., that you could run at home alongside your day trading a

I don’t relate to this that much. Of course the AI crawlers have come in hard, but at least https://taoofmac.com still gets a very large amount of human visitors (either organicallly or return visits, plus RSS). I think the real

As someone who’s been writing online for almost three decades, I don’t think blogs ever went away—they just became a smaller percentage of the overall Internet.

What kind of return were you expecting? Exposure? Ad revenue? VIsibility? Those are not good reasons to maintain a blog… not today anyway.

I’m on this bandwagon. Have my own keyboard (literally just finished soldering and 3D printing one) and still have to have the Apple keyboard cluttering my desk for biometrics). Have been thinking about this for a while, but it feels incred
