If you only have the phone app then yes they are instantly downloaded and removed from their servers. But if you have Desktop client(s) registered, then they need to hold onto those messages until you open your client(s). That is why they h

Are you running Ubuntu LTS? If so HWE or original kernel? I've only had one instance on my XPS where the HWE kernel broke something so I rolled back to the original kernel for a month or so.

When building your next PC stick to a motherboard that uses Intel for everything (or as many things as possible). When selecting a laptop choose one that provides Linux support out of the box, eg Dell XPS 13. I've done the above and ne

Yes you're correct if Mullvad is performing packet inspection then there isn't much I can do about that. My point stands though about not putting all eggs in the one basket and using a different DNS provider than that of the VPN p

I use Cloudflare's DoH DNS ( https://1.1.1.1 ) and tunnel that over Mullvad's VPN. That way Mullvad can only see the IPs I visit, Cloudflare only see DNS requests coming from the VPN IP, and my ISP sees nothing. Mullvad&

Yes have seen this is in a couple of my SaaS applications. If it's in the querystring then they essentially fuzz it by changing some part(s) of the value. I noticed this because I use signed tokens and it raised an exception in Sentry

AFAIK Google shows you an unsubscribe button/link separate to the email and performs the POST request to your server. There's no option to ask Gmail to show a resubscribe button/link.

I'm having the same thoughts. On one of my SaaS apps workers receive details on their shifts via email. If I allow them to one-click unsubscribe, I know there will be many who do so accidentally, with no idea how to resubscribe. Curre

Growing up watching top fuel I'm exactly the same. And until battery technology achieves the same energy density as fuel (and its a long way off) we won't see the same kind of speeds with electric vehicles.

Tying sessions to the user's IP would help prevent this, but it comes with it's own issues. Even better don't put admin tools on the open internet, put them behind a VPN like wireguard. Then if the session cookies are stolen,

If you're homelab'ing then you should be using private IPs to host your services anyway. Don't put them on a public IP unless you absolutely have to (eg port 25 for mail). Use your internal DNS server (eg your routers) for DN

Wireguard support comes with RouterOS 7 (ros7). I'm running ros7 on a MIPS device (mAP) and it works fine. What device(s) are you talking about?

Akamai Node would have been a better name. Still retains the essence of the old name, and still indicates a small cheap VPS offering. "Connected Cloud" could mean anything.

You're only an automatic update away from losing it. Hence why I suggested locking the version now until you find out what the last version with SMS support was, before transitioning to a fork.

For now I have simply locked my Signal version in Aurora and F-droid to 6.2.3, by disabling updates for Signal. Not sure how long it will last, but if it helps anybody else until a fork like this one becomes the mainstream solution.
