Thanks. I've just gone through it. It looks like a great way to cover a lot the basic texture of things that most programming books ignore. I'm recommending it to him. I will be interested to see how you deal with the more complex topic

This is going to be interesting, because if they do manage to put flash and Air on a broad range of other platforms then we will see Jobs's assertion about cross platform frameworks slowing down progress be put to the test.

It would be a better post if you explained how each piece of your advice would help the situation for apple. For example - the $100 per year fee means that a lot of the most useless apps will disappear from the store if their authors don't

I think the interesting point is that if HTC settles using either cross licensing some patent of their own, or by paying to license whichever of Apple's patents are upheld, the outcome will be to limit Android to those who can defend themse

The opening line is provocative, but I didn't read the article because I'm not a subscriber. Do they have evidence to support the claim that google will sell these to the public, or is it just a guess based on the rumours?

They don't look very comparable to me. Unless I'm mistaken, the clojure one communicates with telnet clients who maintain a socket connect, but only relies on the basic libraries which ship with clojure. The scala one is a webapp that is s

Fantastic read. I love the way he charts the ups and downs in his personal motivation. It's a great reminder to be persistent.

I found it an interesting read. I especially liked the sentiment, "An organization that wins by exercising power starts to lose the ability to win by doing better work.", which I firmly believe. However I don't see how PG shows that Apple
