This is really the only, and best, solution. It's simple and clear. Car manufactures cannot get around it with their bag of tricks. Plus, 12 years is a long long time.

Another typical problem with the American system of deregulating everything and anything. In Europe (at least the parts I know) this is never an issue.

Gun control = gun rights. Just a different, and more popular and common, way of looking at it.

Indeed! This is why I stopped using it. I love Fastmail, but who knows if I feel that way in 5 years. The entire point of Fastmail + own domain is never being locked in again. Using subdomain addressing locks you in once again.

Good, Evernote never got out of Beta stage, the product is STILL crappy. I switched to Notion recently, and never going back!

Great and all, but the US cannot even manage to fund their public pension funds. What's the point of innovation when only the rich benefit, like in the States?

Thanks, you made me switch to Notion. I've been hating Evernote since the start, the limit on 3 devices and the excruciating way it handles fonts, yuck. Notion looks perfect for me so far!

Agree, getting rid of all social media was one of the most productive decisions I ever made.

"And toddlers are great at rinsing dishes before putting them into the dishwasher." Don't teach them kids to waste water rinsing dishes! The dishwasher works most efficiently if chunks of food are removed (scrape into trash),

I just can't watch it, too depressing. Especially with the USA actively steering the opposite direction, I have little hope.

Same reason that watching pirated movies/shows is not counted in viewership statistics. It's illegal, you don't get credit for it. Taxes exist for a reason.

The problem is simple, power is too cheap in too many places. Fix that.

Discord is amazing, there really isn't a good replacement right now. Before that it was a mess/mix of IRC/Skype/Teamspeak/Whatsapp, now you can combine all that in one great client from a company that actually seems

You add in the word "foreign" for no apparent reason. What makes you think the EU is targeting FB for being American? I see no proof of this. Size, sure, but the EU also has many regulations for the internal market. For example, w

It's a matter of priorities as well. There's hardly funding to prosecute everyone that breaks any sort of law. So you aim for the big fish. Many more are "hurt" by FB's practices than some random other small player.

Honestly curious: why get a ~$1300 Linux console over say a Nintendo Switch or regular PC? Seems to me SteamOS was a great idea but is dying? Anything I am missing, any killer apps/games?

Agree, that's why I waited for the 5200. It finally has a proper fast UI with search functionality close to what a phone can provide.

That'd be great if Dropbox donates all the taxes they dodged into good causes. But you and I both know that's complete nonsense.

All the things you mentioned can also be handled by the private sector. Not a good idea, however. Also very typical American, not considering healthcare an essential service, lol.

I bought a new Tomtom kit recently after having used Waze and Google Maps for a couple years. I am glad I did, Tomtom has not been sitting still. Speed and interface have greatly improved and their guidance is still best in class. Same for

Anecdotes are not facts. Cholesterol and most fats are still generally bad for you, it's not so black and white, it never is or was. It's not an excuse to stuff yourself with cheeseburgers.

Shame, it's a beautiful kit. Plus the 747 has personal air fans to tune your cooling. The modern planes tend to have done away with those, meaning you're usually too cold or too hot.
