In Germany, Résumés aren't necessarily limited to a a page. Two pages is considered fine too. Three pages is where it starts to be a problem :) Somehow related: The european union standardized a format for a CV: https://europass.cedefop.

I'd really love to do this too, but I just finished my studies and feel bad about spending 300 Euros on a scanner. Does anybody have good alternatives?

It is WAY easier to scale (up AND down) over several nodes. So if you've got BIG amounts of text that you have to fulltext-search, Riak might be the better option.

This is something that is completely confusing to me. Berlin seems to have a lot of interesting Jobs with "fun" languages (ruby, python, even some scala, ...). Down in the south (Stuttgart), it's all C or Java and most projects seem to be b

Interesting move. We just bought two Tesla Cards for a university project so I know how much people could save by just prototyping on a "small" card that can do ?OpenCL? and then using a Quadruple Extra Large instance at $2.10 per hour for

The annoying thing is that e.g. flash will ignore that and try to open a socket. This means that it will use the regular connection and not the tunnel. This also means that hulu decides not to work because flash doesn't respect proxy settin

I'd love to be able to use it, but it's not available in Germany. While I can work around that with a VPN, I'd love to get a break from getting shown the same "5 hour energy" commercial 5-6 times in a row... As far as I saw, there are no ch

Using "Z" as a key makes it really hard for Germans to play the game since for us, y and z are switched on the keyboard. Using x,c,v or 1,2,3 would be better in this case :) Other than this: fun game

I think it's because Java is just plain and simple a boring language. Most people would agree that Java is a tad verbose and over-patternized. It doesn't do any "fancy" stuff like functional programming, it doesn't have a lot of "sexy" libr
