I am not a language, but I have a certain taste in languages. While I am somewhat capable of coding in Java or C, I just enjoy the Ruby community, the podcasts, the expressiveness of the language and the approach to solving problems way mor

Here is a nice NPR podcast about the German-French relationship and the creation of the Eurozone: http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/10/21/141512746/france-a... Apparently Europe created the Eurozone because they were afraid of the newly

I'm German myself and I'm always cringing a bit when it comes to German statups. At least in the past most of the 'bigger' ones were copies of already existing ideas and there is always the ones that seem to be afraid of new technology ("we

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that this kind of stuff also happens in most other communities? At least I've met a few people in the banking community that had their fair amount of crude jokes.

Oh nice. I've been doing a lot of crawling myself ( http://blog.marc-seeger.de/2010/12/09/my-thesis-building-blo... ) and I'd love to get my hands on this data. I hope they'll segment their data a bit further. I personally would LOVE to hav

I have them running on a WD MyBook Live [0]. It also features an 800 MHz ARM. I does only have 256 MB RAM, but does a decent job so far. Couchpotato/Sickbeard + sabnzbd + transmission run fine. Timemachine backups also used to work fine, at

Why would this be tagged [scribd]? I always thought that "scribd" would denote a link to a scribd.com page with the document, but this is a direct link to a PDF.

Not that I know of. I usually use "unblock us" ( http://blog.marc-seeger.de/2011/04/07/hulu-and-iplayer-outsi... ), but I guess that's mainly for TV series rather than movies.

I bought iTunes gift card codes for the US store. While there is an iTunes store in Germany, some of the apps aren't available (e.g. TV Station apps that I could use with a VPN) and with the current euro/usd ration, the US store is cheaper.
