What's a good JavaScript-based solution to render SVG into an image? html2canvas doesn't work well with SVG, especially those heavily styled with CSS.

I'm in the camp of more preparedness is better, and actions need to be taken. For me it's about studying recession histories, stay calm, keep investing. Sharing what I posted in another thread: my look into the 2008 Great Recessio

Good insides on what companies can and cannot withstand a once-in-a-lifetime event. My look into the 2008 Great Recession was very helpful with my pattern matching. 98 out of 100 stocks lost money during that recession, but most of them did

Hey! Maker here. I built this because I couldn’t find a quick, easy and up-to-date source to help me pattern match IPOs. How do you decide to invest in newly public companies? Happy to answer any questions too.

This is a good example of how this leaderboard is very focused on short term IPO performance. Facebook is a another example (I’ll add it) that went down a lot but look at where it’s at now. I’m a big fan of Xiaomi and companies with produc

Thanks! Zoom is there, #3 from the cohorts that haven’t seasoned for 1 year. Yea I’ll see what I can do to get the pre-IPO private round in. It’s easier to get per-IPO exposure as a retail investor nowadays.

There's not enough discussion about the eventual recovery in all these recession articles. I was looking at the last 2008 recession and found some interesting gems. For example, if you bought AIG, one of the main causes of the financia

Why not keep a good chunk of cash around? During the 2017 ~ 2018 financial crisis, 1331 out of 1363 midcap+ stocks lost money. It was a great time to buy undervalued stocks that eventually benefitted from the longest recovery period ever, s

Right, they aren't the same. The '87 black friday crash made a big impact on the investment community, but it wasn't a recession. The commonly used U.S. definition is the one from NBER (National Bureau of Economic Research):

Yes, a recession will happen. So will the post-recession recovery period. It’s going to hurt. 98 out of 100 stocks during the 2008 Great Recession lost people money. At the same time recessions don’t last long [1], and it’s a great opportun

There's something to your idea of breaking this complicated problem in smaller chunks and tackling it over time. Would you like to write about this together?
