Yes, one of the best parts of the early internet was the separation of space/domain that exists in real life. Now, it's much harder online. Which I always find ironic.

Unfortunately this is a case and proof of the classic kickback scheme that occurs in many corporate companies. Also common in many bureaucratic companies, countries. If you don't think $60M/yr is real, you are in a hell of a seat

I think what you want to do is entirely accomplished with what the Personal Computer is. You have a plethora of options with the many types of operating systems available. You already have a lot of functionality built-in. Like you noted you

I do and I think it's understated that it's important to . But I did not at some points of my career. You could say I went through cycles of caring and not caring to make decisions like it's my company. Over time, I found th

To answer your questions: Yes, no. To suggest: Go and pivot your career into aerospace, contracting or full time. No better time than now as the resurgence of aerospace, SpaceX, and related startups is a good sign. You could always go back

Commenting just to see if there are any consultancies successfully marketing themselves as getting rid of React. I think there are just not actively marketing as such.

I think the author is speaking only from the perspective of dealing with tech companies in the VC domain. With that context, what you quoted makes complete sense. Which is another discussion in itself.

I'm not a fan of using the term founder in this case. It would be more appropriate to use owner. This is entirely so that founder in this case understands how important their roles is. I've found this issue more prominent in tech

Super interesting, I've been slowly looking into this type of things having recently opened up a non-tech business. May have to give this a try.

I think you're right with the immediate gratification in this sort of thing. Then I think that's the problem right there.

Yes this is the problem I've seen young and old happen to deal with. They get obsessed with the details. Maybe, they don't have that many things going on.

I'd like to offer you a different view of how to solve your problem. So let's say your problem is: > a similar home for managing "everything". Notion is just too generalised and I'm missing the UX of purpose made

I like reading things like this. Super niche regarding systems and goals, part self development, part techie. Fascinating read. For me the trifecta of the Notes, Reminders, and Calendar apps works best. While I've tried Notion, Evernot

I think it's a great book for average people. I read it and found it to be a basic breakdown greatly simplified. > That's when I realised it wasn't working quite as well as it had the first time. This is exactly what the b

You're not alone, its a great book and one of the better ones to be recommended but shouldn't be the only one. Unfortunately a lot of folks do exactly that.

Good points, interesting context coming from a history student and now with some experience, I'd like to read more on your thoughts if you have a blog.

The biggest (in terms of impact) detriment I've seen of Clean Code has been a lot of diluted information passed down from and to devs who haven't bothered to read the actual book. A lot of context gets lost in translation and real
