Regarding performance, twin.macro seems like a fantastic approach for React users, inlining the styles where needed with Emotion/similar. It also answers the "where do custom styles go" question to some extent (answer: the cs

We have over 15,000 on the way this month (some are spoken for). Yes, do reach out! Some folks actually did do this in April, just with 3D-printed adaptors: maskson.org and pneumask.org. They don't have built-in exhale filters, though,

I know it can be hard to believe, but it's very real (just like COVID). Maybe this quote from a recent customer helps explain: > I'll look like a freak in the mask, but a LIVING freak. Thank you. We sold over 1000 of them in ou

Thanks! Usually yes - sometimes the gate attendant doesn't understand that the exhale is filtered (I assume this was the problem with your respirator). We have guidance on that here: https://narwallmask.com/pages/u

I created this product, but wouldn't say from scratch. It's based on a full face snorkel mask, with a few adaptors for filters (instead of water) that I designed with the help of an industrial engineer and the manufacturer of the

Oh yeah sorry - didn't intend as a criticism! I think the hn headline should be concise, what you have was perfect. _Maybe_ adding the word "benchmarks" could have clarified but you cover more than that in the post.

Huh? If I want to run someone else's software on my cloud, how I want to do that depends on my cloud. I want docs and binaries, not a full cloud configuration. Some people would want k8s, some docker swarm or whatever, some an aws conf

My takeaway from this is more to be wary of AWS than anything. I've also heard gcp can be a real mess. Is Azure any good yet?

My apologies! I'm not sure why I misremembered that. Perhaps I was confusing it with Prisma... Which appears to be open-source as well now. Hmm, my mind must be playing tricks on me. Regardless, thank you for the correction!

One thing is that it's open source, not proprietary. You can run it on your own servers, modify it, etc, for free. Another thing is it's Node, and can be used as a plug-in to your express app. This can make it easier to customize

Fascinating that Bloomberg started adopting server-side JS in 2005 and client-side JS only in 2012. And that they use their own deno-like JS engine.

Self-answering to some degree, it looks like WKWebView on macos is similar to safari but may be behind on version number (presumably updated only when the OS is updated) and thus slower. You can also embed an actual safari view, but it does
