YouTube is particularly janky on Firefox on Windows. For example the full screen transition on Firefox uses a fade to / from black screen animation to hide the sluggishness. You have to disable this in about:config to see the behind th

FWIW Firefox is only slow on Windows. It's much faster on Linux.

It was okay. Just don't use it to build large systems. It is known to create an unmaintainable mess.

It's just semantics at this point. You say pull I say push. A 24V supply can push twice as much current (through a resistor) as the 12V supply.

I am talking about a passive load (like a resistor). Increasing the voltage will push more current through it.

Current can be "pushed" if you increase the voltage.

Could have gone higher. Worth it in copper savings alone. IIRC the cars use AC motors. It needs to go through inverters anyway so there is some flexibility in how high you can go. Edit: of course the motors are "AC" who would want

Not so wild if you consider the fact that we don't live in the sea/ocean. There is a reason why we know more about land animals.

A two year old learns faster because it has inherited training data from its ancestors in the form of evolutionary memory. Think of it as a BIOS for human beings. The LLM takes longer to learn because we are building this BIOS for it. Remem

Optimizing energy use per task at will be a waste of time at this point of time, this will come later. The metric used by OpenAI seems to be more useful right now.

It is only a matter of time before we have true AGI. It's a hardware problem. We don't need to wait for someone to invent a clever algorithm for this. OpenAI knows this. See... - http://www.incompleteideas.net/IncI

Power used is important but so is speed. For example right now I am sure the GPT cluster consumes power in the order of megawatts but you have to remember it serves thousands of users simultaneously.

>150 ± 20 nmol s−1 cm−2 Isn't this miniscule? Is this commercially viable? Edit: The molecular mass of nitrogen is 28, so 1 mol is 28 grams, so 150 nmol is 28 x150 nano grams = 4.2 micro grams. How much gas is this?

A better name for GPUs would then be "Massively parallel processing units" or MPPUs.
