Don’t worry I’m upper middle class and roughly 75% of my salary goes straight to taxes while everything that’s state provided (schools, hospitals, security, infrastructure) just collapses.

I’m having the same issues, where I need to load json files one by one instead of loading them in a batch. It looks like memory is not freed as soon as the file is parsed. Edit: setting threads to a low value as read in this thread solved

CO2 based tarifs? Nuclear energy? Us plebeians have zero leverage to have those implemented. It requires international coordination. It’s about the chosen few thus the constant hammering on the average joe is pointless. Regarding plastics

Well for example I spend 3 full days a year of training at my company being lectured about climate change. There are yearly events and summits with huge press coverage. I don’t know if my company can afford to spend 3 more days per employee

I think there is more than enough attention on climate change (it’s constant hammering at this point) and that it is predatory to awareness about other environmental risks.

I don’t know why all the attention is on climate change and not on the consequences of microplastics everywhere. Such an important issue, yet no world summit, no word about the topic when we talk about environmental issues. Change is due !

Is disallowing IGNORE messages during handshake a good enough fix for this ?

Which license is it compatible with ? Have the ASF and the FSF given their views on it ? In my spare time I’m writing a gplv3 licensed DB. Can I read and use the code ? I have no problem with copy left licenses but their scope need to be st

Interesting recap. Oceanbase looks neat, but its license is quite original (mulan public license), thus I’m reluctant to read the code.

Oracle DB is really less and less popular. Oracle DBAs are worried. They know they are like COBOL devs.

I think the plan is to avoid linking with llvm, not getting rid of llvm altogether. To be fair go has never used llvm and was delivered in less that 50 years.

How do you deliver your python package ? How does the end user fetch dependencies ? A proxy ? Pip ? Jfrog ? System packages ? Is he root ? Or behind a corporate proxy / firewall ? That’s a hot mess to manage.

> For applications, use Java or Python. What’s the deployment story like ? Here’s a hot take of mine: we should treat our users as master and make their lives easier, not ours.

Most of the times there are dropped a few miles away from the African coasts, with a good coordination between the smugglers and the NGOs. They then spend the essential of their travel in safe ships. They could travel less if the NGOs polic

Looks nice. However if I scp a script to an audited server, then execute it, would I be able to retrieve the content of the script to have a proper audit trail ? In other words is the file transfer protocol audited ?

I would say that having methods like ‘and_then_if_finally()’ or ‘then_unwrap_or_none_and_map()’ (I’m barely exaggerating) is less of a feature than say, json parsing and hashing / crypto, which are sorely missing. Tokio provides a bit

The first step would be to bless as much as possible of rust-crypto and promote it to Stdlib. I sometimes wish the rust foundation would hire someone who does for rust what Filippo Valsorda does for go.
