Sorry, I don’t follow. How is the act of observing illegal? I’m not advocating for getting access to private information.

Fair enough, thank you. I guess ultra-shortening the names into a,b,c,d,e, etc makes it superficially hard to understand what's going on but I agree on your point about abstract logic.

Got it. Thank you. I've been using the Google Closure compiler for many years with advanced and every time I look at the code output I'm like "there's no way in a 100 years I would be able to de-obfuscate back to my own

Perhaps because at a university you can learn skills that you can utilize to create things and outcomes with relatively more predictable results. If you need a complex surgery, would you like to go to a doctor or a priest?

Thank you for the explanation! Will give it a shot. P.S. Yes it works! Perhaps add a comments in the short version where it says //This shortened version does not compile, use the GitHub version of the code It said "proof-of-

100%. Perhaps medicine is not that far ahead either. There's a a number of drugs (esp. the ones that deal with the brain) where we observe the effects but the mechanism of action is not well understood.

I am on 13.0, perhaps they fixed it because I can't compile on older iOS versions with XCode 13.0 .

I am not able to compile the first two of these (after the first two I stopped trying) with the newest Xcode on iOS 15.0. I haven't tried the other two or older tools. The source code as given also had syntax errors in it.

False dichotomy. Much more useful to think about most things (esp. societal and behavioral) as a spectrum. Very few things are completely black and white.

I agree. Swift is a nice language, compared to the alternatives. I have a few months experience in it, and I can definitely agree that if you're writing Swift-only, it's very nice. The emphasis on values, and value semantics is de

From Clojure, Java interop is pretty smooth in most cases. Perhaps Clojure being dynamic helps in that regard.

There's more power than that in spec. For example, you can globally define :address/zip to be a string that's more than, say, N characters long. Now anytime you encounter an :address/zip, regardless of whether it is insi

Checkout Clojure spec for a very expressive way of defining data requirements. It allows you to use arbitrary functions to describe data requirements. That way you are not limited by static, compile-time only descriptions of data flowing th

Pretty instant. Since there was essentially no internet or nothing substantial was online (mid 90s in Bulgaria), you'd hear from people that there's shortage of something, and it's already too late. The line is hours long and
