Not just pricing, but that's a big part of it. Streaming services tend to have garbage UI's, content that gets removed after x amount of time, and filled with ads (sometimes unskippable). The user experience can be so much better

Similar story for me in rural Mississippi. AT&T laid fiber years ago with government money but never lit it up. We were able to get 3mbps DSL though which was almost not worth it. Power company coop spun out a ISP and started hanging fi

I used to live in a town where Comcast had a government enforced monopoly. Outages were regular, service was garbage, wait times for new installs were a month or more, and speeds were 20mbps. The town literally next door had great service,

AT&T took that money and laid a whole lot of fiber in my rural area and never lit it up. A few years ago my power coop rolled out fiber to everyone in the area and it's great.

Amazon can't seem to get anything to me in less than 4 days. Newegg and Walmart are usually 3 or sometimes 2 days. I'm under 150 miles from an Amazon distribution center but I'm not in or near a major city.
