I was sad the article was so short. I wish there were a part 2 where he went through everything, fixed a bunch of obvious mistakes and the app shipped successfully.

It was during the time when a bunch of people claimed they were "hacked" a bit after Diablo 3 came out. It's on the bnet forums somewhere.

Pretty much. Look at company's like Blizzard who are even bigger. - Their passwords aren't case sensitive. - Their login form's GET request isn't using https. - Within 20 minutes of informing a security specialist not af

Twitter seems to really rag on rails but at the end the graph looked pretty good to me for their old architecture at the 95th percentile given their traffic. Most sites won't even get 200 reqs per second total, and it's great to k

My point was that even with node's mind boggling growth it still hasn't really overtaken rails when it comes to developer productivity.

I'll believe it when I see it. Almost nothing has changed since I went through my Go adventure which was like 9 months ago I think. 9 months to me is a huge amount of time. I don't want to have to wait years to be super productive

To be fair I didn't use revel. Instead I just used pat (the route mapper) and started to try and recreate most of what express does using go's stdlib because nothing else really existed yet. The gorilla toolkit's APIs are ina

I did like it, what I didn't like was solving common web app related issues that were solved on other platforms years ago. That's what completely killed my urge to consider Go. I don't want to spend most of my time solving bo

The development speed isn't very good with Go because you have to re-invent almost everything yourself because the web libs are seriously years behind other platforms. The default template language is also really archaic and no one has

That test is rigged to be a best case scenario for Go. How often do you send 1MB responses down to the client? If you send 3KB responses then you would see both setups are much closer in performance. Factor in some actual I/O and the d

I'm not sure why you wouldn't cache anything. It doesn't matter if x is faster than y. If both were cached the difference might be milliseconds and in the real world that is what will happen.

Nice, sounds good. I vaguely remember reading about a downside when using the console to run tests, maybe I should give it a second look. All I care about is being able to run tests on file save from my editor and seeing feedback in a termi

I wouldn't mind if Dart didn't support older versions of Chrome or Firefox because that's just much different than IE 8. Most people who are running IE 8 are random non-technical folks who are using the browser that came with

An issue with Dart is it does not support IE 8. IE 8 still ships with Windows 7 and it is quite popular. It's not reasonable to throw away all IE 8 traffic just to get Dart's features.
