NASA's ability of succeeding at landing things successfully on the first try on foreign bodies since 1969 is mind-blowing. Meanwhile, SpaceX takes half a dozen tries before managing to do the same on a fully known environment on Earth.

Isn't it exactly what happened? Some vaccines started large scale tests around March/April. It's just that you have to wait a few months to know if the vaccine you're testing is effective. You can't make this delay

The most important thing is to avoid proprietary services and uses OpenSource alternatives instead. Like, avoid AWS Aurora and use PostgreSQL instead. That will make it almost trivial to move from one provider to another.

I always find it amusing that PostgreSQL is classified as "boring tech". I'm using it every day, and I'm always amazed by how wonderful this piece of software is. PgSQL help me doing thinks in seconds that would take day

France's poor handling of the pandemic has way more to do with late measures and poor decisions earlier this year than the number of nurses and MD. More nurses will not make the virus less infectious. As often, EU is a nice scapegoat.

Is there a reason they don't create the protein in Vito and them inject it as a vaccine? I would imagine they could use in Vito cells to generate a lot of spike proteins. Are they using mRNA because it's easier to manufacture? Or

I've been super happy with BunnyCDN for my personal SaaS. Their UI is super nice, and it has been super easy to setup. Costs are really easy to predict, which is awesome for me.
