Couldn't they just edit the PR branch directly? When I make PRs I have an option "Allow edits by maintainers" which I assume would give them write access to my branch? Edit: "We COULD but we won’t" actually addresse

There's no real pattern, it's just that in some cases I would opt for a Google product because it turns out to be cheaper than the competition or in some cases there was no equivalent. For me the services I got annoyed with the mo

It's really annoying because I actually love Google products but try to avoid them whenever possible so I don't become attached to them in anticipation for when it comes time to kill it off. At least with Microsoft, they only kill

They've already done this for a while. It's called FRP (Factory Reset Protection). I'm pretty sure that even my Android phone from 2017 had this feature. I don't know why they're touting it as a new feature.

Yes, but these scrapper bots aren't that sophisticated.

X over SSH works really well for me as long as I enable SSH compression. At least for my usage, I can't tell it apart from a native window but then again I'm not running sophisticated programs which update frequently.

I know about things like https://crt.sh but how could you be notified about something like this? Is there some service that allows you to be alerted whenever a new certificate is generated for a domain?

Is this sort of like a response to Devin? I'm having a hard time understanding what this is.

That's the same output as gpt-4-turbo for me, so no real improvement for that particular prompt.

If you ask it about the model name/cutoff date it claims to be "ChatGPT, based on GPT-4" and that the cutoff date is "Nov 2023." It claims that consistently so I think it might be accurate.

WeChat and WeMeet are actually available on Linux, so this is only partially true. Edit: I've noticed that officially, it's only available on Kylin for some reason. I guess this is where the confusion arises, but I don't see

It doesn't even work well in my experience. ACME.sh is a lot more hassle free, I've always had issues with Certbot's DNS verification. Basically I'm not avoiding Certbot to make a point, I just think it's inferior f

Using common sense, probably. You don't need an LLM detector to tell that something is AI generated.

Maybe I'm cynical but I really doubt that the Crown Prince is smart enough to have thought about it like this and even then, they could achieve the same (supposed) end result while also pursuing a more achievable mega project and get m

I think it's just caching on their end that's causing this issue. If you add any other query param in the URL that message goes away.

XZ is just a really boring project. It seems complete for the most part, so I'm not surprised by the lack of scrutiny. It's one of these projects that I would just assume is well maintained.

You're missing the years of reputation Jia built so that he'd be given the benefit of the doubt. I don't think anyone would have been too suspicious.

Isn't this because Windows uses a kernel driver and macOS a user space one? Some overhead is to be expected. I know macOS is a lot more keen on putting things traditionally in kernel into the user space to decrease the attack surface.

That's terrifying, I hate where this is all headed. I still hope that the people that ordered it setup and those that had it developed would be held accountable (I know, pipe dream).
