This is going to be a ton of fun. It'll be a great way to network and really just hang out. Can't wait to meet all of you. -Garry, cofounder, posterous.com

Are there any Internet companies at all that have done an IPO in the past 24 months? Or are planning to in the next 24? The answer is very few. "In the past quarter, for the first time in 30 years, not a single tech company went public." (

I think blanket statements about YCombinator companies are a little unfair to the diversity of YC startups. As fallentimes points out, Wufoo has been profitable from the start and continues to build on a vision they believe in. Hardly built

Looks good. Design point: I'd try to stick with a grid. The "beta" text seems to have a random position off to the right, and while the table of example searches are functional, they could use some consistent cell padding. On the search pag

In an ideal world, we agree. However, in practice, it's just a part of the fragmented web world we live in right now. Communities of people spring up all over the place, and a problem we have today is sometimes you do just want to get somet

The racism is pretty disconcerting, and it sounds like the friends are the problem. We absorb the attitudes of the people we spend time with, and our peer group is who we respect. If our peer group is great, we rise to meet them, but if the

For posterous.com, we use slicehost VPS, ruby on rails and mysql. Pretty standard setup overall. Separate DB, App and Web server slices, and a separate job server for longer-running postprocesses. S3 for storage and backup.

Death comes quick enough, so why help it? Terrible things tend to result in death too. But that's why life is such a gift. As the movie Trainspotting said, choose life. Thwarted goals are a challenge. We'd probably get bored without them.

I would echo these sentiments. Sachin and I worked on Posterous.com remotely (I was in Mountain View and he was in NYC) for the months before we applied and were accepted to YC Summer 2008. We could work independently for long stretches and

Aside from a few unintentionally funny lines, there's not much to this movie. It's really just the vaguely boring implosion of an egotistical startup CEO's life.
