Will it last though? Seems to me that it's a lot about the novelty that's making people excited about app.net.

I don't think the loop is the interesting part, what's interesting is that articles lead to philosophy.

I'm afraid HN isn't very notable for good UX in general.

The UI is a mess. You need to do some work on that in order to compete with other services.

Like the idea of having a Spotify-like UI for the vast amount of music on Youtube. Not so much like the fact that it's pretty much Spotify's interface copied to the smallest detail.

Not exactly, but yeah it expects you to be able to right click. It's up to the user how they wish to do that, tap with two fingers on trackpad, ctrl-tap etc.

Can you give a practical example how this can become a problem if I use rand() to generate a password to be used on a website?

Also, you can't easily get the link on the clipboard. You're forced to open a browser and then copy the link from the page. ?dl=1 seems to solve the preview issue, though.

- The feature is not going away for existing users. - I love Cloudapp for sharing files on Mac. Take a screenshot using Skitch, and drag it to the cloud icon -> URL goes to clipboard, very simple.
