Their search is so bad that it has to be intentional. This person isn't finding shit in ten seconds.

I think the origin of this idea comes from the time when personal computers started becoming available, and a generation of then young people started tinkering with them. Some of us then went on to do some version of this hobby/passion

I generally don't do front end development professionally. I do know how to manipulate the DOM without frameworks. Learned it over a weekend. If I were interviewing for front end, I wouldn't recall the syntax immediately, but I wo

It seems insane to me that most working front end developers don't know how to manipulate a DOM with javascript. Not saying this is or isn't true, but it seems insane.

Haha, glib examples indeed. I agree with you about remote reverting to a large extent. I have been working 90% remote for a while, but most of my co-workers have not and it is driving them crazy after only a few days. We know that a large s

IMO, if you are fully remote, you might look at it the other way around. The ridiculous salaries are mostly in California and one or two other places. Those places might realize that they can get react devs for a dime a dozen out of bootcam

Agree. There was a Reddit thread a day or two ago asking something along the lines of, "How is this pandemic going to change the future forever?" People had some really wild ideas about how the population at large was going to hav

One of the first things I do on a new Firefox install is add a user-agent switcher and set it up to tell sites I am using chrome for exactly this reason. Somehow we have gone back to the dark ages of web where sites complain unless you are

It's interesting to see how many people take certain things in web design for granted. I'd be interested to know how many readers here were in the neighborhood of 10 or 12 years old in the mid 2000s. We've reached a point whe

`about:restartrequired` brings you to a screen where you can just hit enter, allowing for a restart without using the mouse. That said, I don't think I use it much more often that I had to use `chrome:restart` when I had to use chrome.
