He didn't even win the last election, when he was running against a widely despised incumbent. I hope Milliband can wake up in time.

JSC has a very stable external API and performs competitively (for some reason it always beats V8 on DOM manipulation stuff -- I don't know why v8/chrome haven't been able to make more efficient bindings). It doesn't bui

Nice benchmark! Hopefully the asynchronous lazy decoding in Clank lands in Chrome soon and improves image decode blocking.

They own many of the 3G and 4G ones too, and can give you a great deal on bundling if you go with them.

Yeah, but most of it is encumbered so it'd be really hard for a competitor to go and read your driver code and then do the same thing without ending up in trouble later on. For example, NVIDIA vs SGI on Texture Mapping, or NVIDIA vs 3d

GMail, etc, is just as important from a security perspective as your banking site since it could be used to perform a password reset. It could conceivably be iframe'd and have its contents sucked out. It's unlikely that every link

These same guys had previously used WebGL to suck out text in the same way; unfortunately the demo is no longer at the same URL, but it is what's responsible for the fairly weird implementation of CSS Shaders: http://www.sch

Rockmelt had apparently received $40M in funding which it seems likely they were not going to be able to return any time soon. Many of Y!'s recent acquisitions seem "distressed" (not all though).

There are a bunch of conditionals in the Android framework on which SDK version something was compiled against, so they already do this in a way.

I'd love to have screen pixels in CSS for doing hairlines. I hate when something that should be a hairline comes out fuzzy or lumpy.

No, no, they ported Android to glibc the GNU libc implementation (from bionic, the APSLv2 licensed Android libc implementation) in order to run Chrome, which at the time depended on some glibc/posix things that weren't in bionic (

It's a pity that GoogleTV (which the Chromecast OS appears to be derived from) is such a messed up platform. They really wanted to be able to run Chrome, before Chrome had been ported to bionic/Android... So, they ported Android t

Bada is dead, Tizen looks likely to be DOA. By software platform company I meant a company that can sustain software platforms. It's really easy to ship a new platform every year; no third parties want that though. I agree with your po

Probably the Marvell first-stage bootloader always verifies what it loads and the decision of whether to enforce or not comes after verification. Google chose not to enforce, good for us :).

I like that self-hosting is a focus; I'd love for Android to become self-hosting and have some good development tools (and I believe that good tools would be much easier if Android ran regular java code and didn't require dexing -

I wonder what the SoC is on this, and if it runs Android. I assume it has some UI for connecting to WiFi, so conceivably it could be like those cheap Android HDMI dongles inside.

I don't know if you could use Chrome's SSH extension -- it's actually a super good terminal emulator -- if you check out the source they wrote some code to run tricky sequences through xterm and figure out what it does.

At least as a browser vendor you just had to implement NPAPI to get Flash -- EME requires contracts and money.
