I resonate so much with you. I'm in the middle of getting my product out for people to use and naively kept thinking that a good product means people are interested. I need to integrate with tools that prematurely deny me because I

We work in different timezones so it's a mess. Either people give up their morning or they give up their evening time. I'm at the bottom of the chain here and have no authority to change this. Given that I'm being let go soon

Well, touche. But then my conclusion would shift from "JS OT is bad" to "OT is bad". I'd hate that, because I like the idea about a standard for telemetry, but the reality is that most projects don't need this

The JS impl of OpenTel is awfully glued together. Sorry for the maintainers, but its inefficient and prometheus+logging will outmatch OT any day of the week (at least for JS)

Building a little extra tool for my reservation system, which simulates guests reserving accommodations before a customer launches. This is nice if you have no idea how users will respond to your availability and options. We have an ML mode

It works until you realize some of these usages would've been better as individual key/value rows. For example, if you want to store settings as JSON, you first have to parse it through e.g. Zod, hope that it isn't failing du
