That was also my experience with Awesomium. It was buggy and support is awful. I actually tried to contact them for a company which was interested in buying a commercial license -- blows my mind that they'd get emails basically saying "we w

Are they? Where I work (a bank) we were more than happy to move to read-only access to prod servers, and pass by a support team when we need to deploy things.

The semantics are different with regard to lazyness: a boxed vector can contain thunks (unevaluated values), so individual elements can be evaluated on demand, while an unboxed vector must be evaluated all at the same time (making it diffic

It's been working fine for years, though. I think part of it is being in Japan, and part of it is that the bikes just don't have much resale value. No point stealing creaky, cheap city bikes.

I think most people who are serious about learning a foreign language either want to learn English or already speak it. It's relatively rare for, say, a person who speaks only Spanish to start studying Mandarin without even basic fluency in

But... why not just lend regular, cheap bikes and reuse them? Reuse is a lot less expensive than recycling. I visited a city last week (Matsumoto) that has this service, they lend cheap city bikes for free by the day. Not even an ID card ne

Perhaps it doesn't make economic sense. I wouldn't be surprised if demand for rare earth had risen much more quickly than demand for thorium and uranium in the last decade or so.

The logic is just that courts aren't stupid. I've noticed sometimes this tendency in programmers (and in my younger self) to see human systems like computers. A court isn't a VM running the law as a bytecode. It's a bunch of humans, and the
