You're definitely right, advice shouldn't be taken as gospel. We definitely need to have some sort of self reflection and analysis to figure out if things are benefiting the things that really matter most to us

Serpapi definitely did the right thing here. Shame on the maintainers for introducing such a breaking change in a minor version update. I guess the takeaways are: - review change logs for any gems that are updated - have extensive test case

Everyone has their unique value to a company. That could range from large expertise with certain libraries/type of problems to deep knowledge of an industry or even your network (more applicable to sales/leadership). Not all devel

The biggest time saver I noticed is a suite of vim functions I wrote to run rspec.tests in rails projects. I can easily run a whole spec file, a specific test (via line number) and run failures with leader based commands in normal mode. Sav

I never thought about this until you mentioned it but my love for markdown only came after I learned vim. Vim is easily my most used application; I use it for my task list, to write notes when learning new topics and even to journal my pers

I've only used vim for three years and it's been a fantastic experience. Every time I'm in a normal editor I long for vim. I think the most important video I watched about vim was about text completion in a thoughtbot meetup

After reading, I don't think the author is willing to look stupid, I think they don't care at all if they look stupid, an attribute that I still think is remarkable. I wish I had the self-confidence to not care so much about what

I wonder how fire resistant hardened wood is. I can imagine cities like Chicago having a hard time to use wood in commercial buildings with history launch as "The Great Chicago Fire"[0] [0]: https://en.wikipedia.org

Let's assume cryptocurrencies we're stable for a second. Wouldn't banks still have a place? How would loans be provided in the realm of cryptocurrencies? Would it look more like peer to peer loans? Or would a similar bank lik

Jobs was pretty bold asking Dell for a royalty of every Dell PC sold. I'm curious what a world like that would have looked like, where you can choose between OS X and Windows when purchasing a computer.

I'm not the most familiar with rent the runway but I'm curious if this type of business alleviates or worsens the fast fashion environmental issue. In theory it helps by reducing the need for people to own the latest fashion and t

Not the OP but I would say it's "objective" from telegrams perspective. They shared their decision making process which I agreed with, not too sure what would have been a better choice in that situation.
