I think of Lisp vs. Python similarly to PostScript vs PDF. In PostScript you have a full language, can do anything but you often have to do it yourself. PDF's aren't extensible but have _just about_ all the functionality you need

If you can, watch the documentary "General Magic". I got it off Showtime. Hadn't finished it yet, but what I've seen so far is great, if painful. By "painful", it's easy for a developer to put themselves i

Just ordered a 16" MacBook Pro with a AMD Radeon Pro 5000M. Will that now work with TF 2.0? How does it compare with the Radeons mentioned here?

I was thinking you were talking about Atlanta until you mentioned traffic being light at 8pm. A lot of times it takes later here, even out to the suburbs.

I've come up with a modern version of Gate's saying of "640K ought to be enough for everyone". 95% of people are fine with an i7 and 16GB of RAM. If you're not running a bunch of VM's, that's enough comput

I switched jobs in 1998, and was at a biggish, stable company in the Atlanta area, feeling lucky as I heard about stories like this out in California. When it happens again, I don't think it will be as bad. In addition to learning from

Reading the "digression" about the plans for the monument at Kitty Hawk, and Washington's meddling and bumbling, gives you a whole "the more things change, the more they stay the same" feel.
