I think we are hitting a decade of tech winter. Not seeing anything substantial in the 2020s. VR will be limited to gaming & entertainment. Not sure any other platform or tech is emerging at this point.

There is an approach to decide the ownership. When India got independence and the Republic of Indian union was formed, the Indian central government got ownership of all the assets of the princely states. There are instruments of ascession

I think this doesn't solve a fundamental problem with chat. chat has a discoverability problem. Even if you force the discussion to public chat, it is hard for someone to discover that. Chat by design is ephemeral. Sure you can scroll

Mudge probably wanted things to similar to banks: 1) I don't think having a single mono-repo and everyone having access is a major security concern. 2) Employees should only run corporate approved software. considering he only worked

First step would be to move database to a separate server(3rd server) and use the 2 servers to run your application. This way you have some resiliency when one of the server goes down.

It is amusing how the article says "employees" but everyone in the comments are talking about developer productivity and laziness. It is shocking how no one points out about the laziness of PMs and management. I have seen PMs and
