I'd highly recommend Fareed Zakaria's "Post American World". Give gives good insight into how America rose to power. WWII helped, but it wasn't the defining moment. It was the huge industrial advances at the end of the 19th century that sha

Heh, one of the only reasons I stick to buying index funds is because I don't have the energy to learn what those terms mean.

Wow. And it's only Monday. Things are going to get exciting this week. Dow 8-9k.. any predictions? Fortunes are made buying in bear markets. Though I wouldn't suggest its easy to recognize the bottom.

Good looking app. Stands out as distinct and memorable. The name is a bit obscure and hard to remember. Might hurt word of mouth (which could be a big deal on campuses). I'd recommend getting rid of the adwords. Highly doubtful that they'll

The demo version is pathetically useless. Stops after 5 minutes, and you cant save anything. A 30 day trial would be useful. Most people arent about to drop 80 bucks on an app after only using it for 5 minutes. Any have any alternatives? I'

Check it out on OpenSourceRails http://www.opensourcerails.com/projects/85 YubNub was actually open source before. The real news is that I was able to upgrade it to Rails 2.1, and cleaned up the codebase. Enjoy!

There's really not much here. Reads like a political hit piece, with "anonymous sources" relaying embarrassing quotes from Sergey Bin. I usually expect a lot better from NYTimes.

I tried to use WebKit debugging tools since I like Safari and Firebug is the only thing keeping me tied to Firefox. Webkit Debug is ok for dom inspection, but it's horrendously bad for the on the fly CSS modifications that Firebug excels at

Wifi is such a disaster. The horrible wifi hotspot industry is about to be killed off by 3g/4g technologies. And good riddance.
