Actually, maybe there's a much easier solution: Integrate Sparrow iphone app directly with Boxcar notification. Plug my boxcar account in and they can handle the rest.

Would love to see a writeup on how to set up boxcar for as a replacement. Maybe Sparrow should implement their push notifications by just integrating with Boxcar and making it idiot proof.

Sparrow seems to be going down the wrong path. They say they don't have server side expertise so they are promoting a solution that the iPhone clearly isn't meant for. Simple solution, hire someone who understands secure backend infrastruct

Sparrow on iPhone is amazing. Takes an app like this to really show how old and crusty the default mail app has become for power users. I really hope this trend continues and we can see power user replacements for Safari and Calendar as wel

Easy solution, registration for the first 2 weeks should only be through a rest api call (whose required params change every day) Should weed out the cruft

I put together a quick and dirty bookmarklet: https://gist.github.com/2001302 Click it to quickly wrap any site in responsive.is.

They're both useful. I prefer the single site at a time when doing development since I'd rather focus in one layout at a time to optimize it.

Pretty awesome. It even works with port numbers, but only if you use it directly in the URL (entering :3000 into the top right address bar doesnt work). http://responsive.is/localhost:3000 A bookmarklet would be great too

Thanks for the heads up. I've searched far and wide to find any sort of docs for the built in debugger. ruby-debug was incredibly easy to use. require 'debug' sets a breakpoint, but I cant figure out any way to interact with it. I use pry,

Having to learn the ins and out of bundler `bundle exec, update, --without :darwin`.. just to use a package handler. I had growl_notify installed, and now we've forced our team to be mac only because we got tired of dealing with linux issu

I'm not ready to ditch rails yet, but I think the framework (and Ruby itself) needs an intervention. Bundler, Ruby 1.9.2, 1.9.3, and a ton of gems are all making life harder than it used to be. I have faith the community is self critical en

This is a response to: http://twitter.com/#!/angellist/status/159451769745846272 This embed script writes directly to the DOM so just add custom styling using scoped #angelsq_embed css selectors! Feel free to hide any of the buttons, or m

Depends... is Amber still affiliated with Sproutcore at all? If so, something like Sproutcore Slim would be cool Of course, all the good names are taken: http://slim-lang.com/

To be clear, this was mostly my fault. My heroku-rails gem had a terrible flaw. It's now fixed on version 0.4.0 of heroku-rails gem https://github.com/railsjedi/heroku-rails/issues/7

Well, how angel investing should be :) Should reward finding good companies early, giving them some funds to get their valuations high, and have a high multiplier on the exits.

Our success criteria matching will reward the first investors in newer companies. People who pick the already "hyped" companies can do ok, but they wont get much return if an exit occurs.

I love the idea. What if we had 5 startup picks a day, and if one of those startups is in your list, you get a reward? (more $$$ to invest)

Every time a startup exits, it'll be marked as a "WIN" on your profile (if you got in early enough). The multiplier will be a best guess from a team of AngelSquare judges.

Team of 3 built this as a 24hour project for AngelHack.com. Judging starts in half hour! Wish us luck. As you can see, we heavily exploited the Twitter Bootstrap css framework :).

This is a really good point. 37signals approach make a lot more sense with that in mind. Still, it's a painful transition to outgrow a tool you've become dependent on and need additional functionality to do your job.

Nice post that reminds us that customer development techniques are not new to the tech community, and we can learn a lot from watching traditional brick and mortar stores use these same techniques to enhance their business.
