I agree. I've always said that RSpec is about documentation, not testing (hence the name - it's a specification for your code). However, recently, I've been using Minitest-spec; not quite as readable but less magic and it fee

It's subsidised in that they are fronting you the money. My wife has about £100/month disposable income and pays about £30/month for her handset and contract. When her renewal comes around she can buy the handset for, say £40

Twitter has changed a lot. When I started out on it, I was a freelancer. It was a great way to chat about work and trivia to other people doing similar jobs, whether I had met them or not - a sort of online "water-cooler" I guess

As well has helping with verification, I find unit tests help with design. I write less code, and that code is simpler and with looser coupling when I write tests first.

I don't agree with the "people can't create" thing with tablets. I do a podcast entirely on my iPad, I also record music on it - and in both cases significantly prefer it to doing the same on my computer. I also sketch s

There are a number of rumours of Apple trialling a 12 or 13" iPad going round at the moment [1]. To my mind, that would be Apple cannibalising Mac sales - an iPad that big would be aiming squarely at Macbook Air territory (especially c

When Chip and PIN came in, as part of the TOS that you accepted by using the card, it included a clause that the bank is not liable for any fraud on the card as Chip/PIN is unbreakable (the implication being you must have given away yo

I use FreeAgent (as it doesn't feel like I'm using an accounts package). The place I used to work used Xero, which is a bit more traditional in how it lays things out (for example, Xero uses ledgers, FreeAgent just has you categor

I would say phones are already fashion statements (or at the very least lifestyle statements, if you want to make the distinction). I'm sure Steve Jobs understood this - since his return, Apple has consistently made emotional appeals,

I'd say it's more likely to be iPod touches - only the newer touches are getting ios 7 and there's no contracts (and hence no "cheap" upgrades). Plus It's also quite likely to belong to a child. Anecdotally, I

Although both are American companies operating under the same rules, there is a fundamental difference between Apple and Google's business models. Apple makes its money from selling you new hardware every year or two - they need to m

By OSX 86 community do you mean Hackintosh users? If so, Hackintoshes are, from Apple's point of view, piracy anyway. Apple makes no money on the OS (which they sell for a few dollars) and all their money from the hardware the Hackint
