I too use Google news but I often wonder if I’m missing out on a perspective/views because Google News shows me news from the same news sources.

Hey, I saw your submission minutes after I posted mine. Quite the co-incidence! I really like what you did. I too struggled with “splitting” the screen on mobile. My current solution is a little janky.

It would be messy for sure but there is somewhat precedence for it. WeChat operates its own AppStores and is subservient to the CCP. 'Running' your own AppStore is forbidden in the iOS terms of service but when you have the might

Yeah alternate app stores exist but when something like this is driven from a nation stare, the Indian govt will most likely mandate inclusion of their AppStore on Android and iOS. Once it is loaded on by default, you suddenly gain 800 mill

Fwiw, the guy who wrote this article is ex-Uber and was involved in Policy and Strategy for Uber India. Probably has privileged access to Kalanick’s new venture.

This is a cool idea. In a similar vein, I use Google Colab heavily to induct new students to python. Requires no setup, we can collaboratively edit and the output is instantaneous.

This is so timely! I am teaching CS to some high-schoolers and they just got introduced to Python, I want to hook them by getting them to make something that they can play around with. Could use this there :D Somehow, it feels like, CS educ

They could, and I might be wrong here but Apple also disallows you to mention that a cheaper version of the service is available elsewhere on the app. So the user has no idea what the actual price is or where they could avail the price. All

That's an interesting problem. Aside from HN, I frequent TechMeme alot for the more news-y side of tech. They have a leaderboard section [1], that has all of the biggest tech publications ranked. That could be a good starting filter? [

Also worth noting that that Xeon processor takes somewhere around 350-400W and the V100 is also in the range of 300W. So not huge on energy savings. Although a really cool, potentially industry shaking breakthrough, regardless.
