Was thinking the same thing, that is the character 'Aunt Hillary', which is an ant hill. In the Dutch translation (which I read years ago) she's called 'Myra Hoop'. Funny how those translation still make sense, sam

Yep, podcasting inbox zero has become quite hard since I started working remotely. No commute is less time for listening to podcasts.

Cool thing about ROS is that is works for all sorts of robots, while MOOS [0] is focussed on autonomous marine vehicles. With ROS, I can have motion planning for a manipulator in hours, then put in on a mobile robot with whatever sort of l

Can you name a few examples? For starters, I assume the IPC protocol in 'ROS classic'/ ROS1 will be on that list, as will catkin. What else?

The answer from the old-fashioned people who didn't believe in open-source would be Microsoft Robotics Studio. MS killed that years ago. Now Microsoft is contributing to ROS2 IIRC with ROS2 running on windows too.

Videolang? DuckDuckGo also includes results to VideoLAN of VLC fame. Google does better and shows, well, what this comment section is about.

Oh, I know. But poor countries flooding will have the additional problem of creating a lot of refugees looking to keep their feet dry.

Every time there is elections for the waterboard ("Waterschap"), there is a very low turnout and talks to just merge them into the provincial governments. But I guess we'll only know what we miss once it's gone.

Could be, but would it be fair to only keep your feet dry because you/your country can pay for it?

I think the market is pretty into ROS2 actually, its just the PhDs and grad students that will be on ROS1 for a longer time because they don't have the resources to make any switch. Amazon and a lot of other companies are big on ROS2.

What would you pay to have such a machine in your home? A washer and a dryer are in the 500-1000 euro range, would you pay eg. 10.000 euro (or dollar for that matter) for a machine that folds laundry? The difficulty with home robotics is pr
