> Taking a step back, it's pretty clear that Raycast is angling for an Apple acquisition here with this play. No kidding, although I think Apple would only be interested if it uses SwiftUI. (The marketing page doesn't say. Rayc

Why not? The integrated GPUs are quite powerful, and having access to 32+ GB of GPU memory is amazing. There's a reason people buy Macs for local LLM work. Nothing else on the market really beats it right now.

Also the Prior Art section, which has telltale repetition of useless verbs like "documenting," "providing insight into," and "confirming" on each line. This was definitely AI-written, at least in part.

It's generally a good app. People in the tech community like Overcast, but I've always found its UI completely illogical. Apple Podcasts is organized like I'd expect a podcast app to be.

No, it’s two screenshots from Anthropic documentation, stitched together: https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/build-with-claude/prompt... The post even links to that page, although there’s a typo in the link.

Because it's "a proper language" [1]. Not to mention webscale! It does seem to do some more complex stuff now that would've been annoying, but not impossible, to write as a shell script. [1]: https://github.co

Music is about the human experience, emotions, mistakes, accidents, discoveries. I could listen to music by real people being vulnerable and expressing themselves, or I could listen to a computer soullessly regurgitating a stock "blues

Not sure what warrants the name-calling and whataboutism here. Who's talking about "predators"? This thread is about BASE jumping.

Noteworthy that he claimed that when talking to an investigator prior to being charged. We'll see if he's willing to make the same claim in court. (He's apparently representing himself...)

This isn't supposed to replace Windows, and it isn't a GUI desktop operating system at all. I doubt anyone working on this has anything to do with the modern Windows desktop UX.

I'm not anti-whimsy, but if your project goes too hard on the whimsy (and weird AI-generated animal art), it's kind of inevitable that someone else is going to create a whimsy-free clone, and their version will win because it&#x

But this could be done for 1/100 the cost by only delegating the news-filtering part to an LLM API. No reason not to have an LLM write you the code, too! But putting it in front of task scheduling and API fetching — turning those from

- Video games often use HTML/JS-based UI these days. - UE5 has its own custom UI framework, which definitely does not feel "native" on any platform. Not really any better than Electron. - You can easily call native APIs from
