C# has much better primitives for controlling memory layout than Java (structs, reified generics). BUT it's definitely not a language designed for no-gc so there are footguns everywhere - that's why Rider ships special static anal

Basically C# is like using a Mac and F# is "I use Arch btw."

If you're in the ecosystem get an iphone mount - image quality is unreal compared to anything short of some fancy DSLR setup - it is some setup but not much with magnets in iphone.

Problem with AST is that it still kind of forces JS semantics which we should be working away from if we're doing this big leap.

Did they solve GC and DOM access ? It's been years since it was "just about to happen" and I stopped paying attention in the meantime. But if it had that I agree - it would be ideal if JS was a legacy thing and a saner WASM f

I think either you're overselling the maturity of the ecosystem or I've been unfortunate enough to get stuck with the worst option out there - Cypress. I run into tooling limitations and issues regularly, only to eventually find a

I basically have to tell most of my coworkers to stop using GPT and switch to Claude for coding - Sonnet 3.5 is the first model that I feel isn't wasting my time.

I don't know enough about the ecosystem - but mentioning conference sponsorships is enough for me to realize they/you are being dishonest. Conference sponsorships are 100% company promotion, it even gets budgeted towards that.

Not contributing back to the project you're basing your business (eg. the smallest example being infrastructure they are cut off from). Honestly zero sympathy for WP engine, and I don't really see a better way to force them to pay

Honestly I don't get the backlash Mullenweg is getting - a corp is trying to freeload on OSS community, GPL let's them have the code - but I'm all in favor of kicking then off of everything else.

If those jobs consisted of solving small isolated puzzles and math questions you'd maybe have a point. The societal impact so far has been mostly increasing noise (generating irrelevant content you have to filter out) and burning resou

No argument here - just saying it's still not the endgame. Lean/ripped combo - now that's something I'd subscribe to/inject for regularly.

I'd say it's the opposite - if you don't exercise you end up skinny fat which is metabolically unhealthy as well. It helps with super accessible dopamine hits I guess - which is awesome - but need to combine it with exercise

Is Microsoft gaming relevant that much these days ? Admittedly I'm not gaming that much but I own PS5 and Mac and I don't really feel I'm missing out on any titles I'd want to play. Big stuff comes out on PS5 and Steam -

Wondering if solar/batteries would do the same thing as a generator but cleaner and also useful in general ? Because I've thought about solving a similar scenario but just assumed solar/batteries would be the play here.

I don't see Nvidia canibalizing their server cash cow, but AMD has much less to lose and more to gain.

Thing is AMD can't have Nvidia margins because nobody supports them - take a hit for a generation on pro sales - get market/mind share and then you have a chance to play the same game.

I don't see why. AMD could buy a lot of free community work just by putting out a 32 GB version of their next gen flagship at around 1k. Not chasing the margin for a generation would buy them a decent amount of community support - they

Given how shit GPT is at programming and the amount of training data available in this domain - I highly doubt it would be more useful in this area over a Google search.
