Thanks, will check out LTT's gripes, but I've been watching the following HDR channels forever and they look great: https://www.youtube.com/@SeoulWalker https://www.youtube.com/@Rambalac https:&#

Ridiculous. Like when James Cameron promoted Avatar HDR with an SDR YouTube video, while YT is perfectly capable of HDR playback.

Clint Eastwood's upcoming last film, Juror #2, has an interesting premise where a juror realises he might be the perpetrator.

Hopefully it will help promote the accessible and performant native web, because flaws and accessibility issues will be more glaring in VR: https://rado.bg/native-web-in-apple-vision-pro/

Oliver Stone’s “Nuclear Now” film was very optimistic about small reactors. Not sure if it interviewed this company or another?

Is there a way to speed up the Windows 11 UI on unsupported hardware? It works fine, but the responsiveness is much worse than 10.

Funny, but I’m saying it seriously as a countermeasure to the bloat epidemic. An SMS parking app doesn’t even need Internet and works fine. Use the simplest technology to achieve a goal and enhance.

This airline tried to kick me off a flight, because they were unaware of the visa free stay in China.

Yes, there is some banding, because it's a web format designed for small file size. 10-bit AVIF has smooth gradients in smaller size, thought not as well supported yet.

This is one of the best apps of any kind on any platform. It just works flawlessly.

Nobody cares because people have been trained on crap software for decades and don't know what it is capable of when optimised well. USP opportunity, anyone?

It's even more ridiculous to bring the browser to its knees, destroy performance, and accessibility, because the trendy framework made your dev life easier.

The correct way to think in CSS is to think in HTML, which has the functionality we need (like a checkbox etc) and CSS is an enhancement on top of it. Ditto JS.

Yeah, the 90% of web apps whose UI is broken, I don't understand them. Haven't we all seen multimillion $ airline mega web apps that can't present a decent form?

JS for UI is wrong, because there will be FOUC, and if you preload JS, the page will be slower. Of course, if something is impossible with CSS, JS is fine.

They still seem to have issues from the Carbon to Cocoa transition 20 years ago, like my favourite: apps don't remember their keyboard language.

The recent macOS dialog "Allow app to access folder [OK] [Cancel]" supports button cycling by Shift+Tab (previous), but not Tab (next). The Wi-Fi signal strength indication changes when clicking it. So yeah, at least they need to
