The difference for me was I turned off 24 & Homeland because it seemed to be nothing but torture over and over. Fringe - I really have to think about it because I don't recall any. I kind of recall weird bits of mad scientist-ish t

The previous articles are about 'Scandal', '24' and 'Homeland' which are torture-filled entertainment. Quite a (linkbait-ish) leap to focus vaguely and exclusively on Fringe.

It's an amateurish, last minute rant that starts off chasing a popular topic and quickly plummets into assumptions about techies.

SF has been predominantly for the young for a long time. Been here 20+ years and heard the same thing when I first arrived. You get to a certain age and move on (if you can).

It's not just "an immense amount of money", in most cases it's the only way they generate revenue.

I don't understand PulseLocker's subscriptions. What does the track count mean? I can't imagine only 25 tracks being useful for anything. Heck, a single mix can be 30 tracks, and that's whittled down from 100+ easily.

They're well detailed, but the vector sources are little messy (stray points, lack descriptive titles) so you'll want to clean them up.

It's also about establishing a network. Join some meet-ups in your area. Ask questions. Start contracting. Find a mentor (older or younger). Usual stuff.

I use desktop Twitter and follow a handful each of professional designers, UX/UI devs, artists, DJs/producers, Android blogs, tech blogs, kaomoji artists, and @HNTweets. Most don't flood, spam or waste my time. Too much signa

Following UX/UI patterns make sense, but not design - especially if you plan to be cross platform.

Resources, not widgets. Because the built-in resources are very Google-brand looking. Big apps have their own style. They'll follow UI norms, but don't need to look like Google made the app.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. Starship was a tongue-in-cheek war satire. NBK was a hyper-saturated parody of satire.

Serious advocacy of citizenship through military service? One soldier was there just so she should could have children. (Gotta listen during the shower scene.)
