Yeah you're right - I re-structured my post before hitting on "reply" and mangled what was originally something like this: 2024 - 942 = 1082 instead of 1982. (I also removed a detailed description of how these errors are usua

When I was in a teenager I worked in a bank doing data entry of bank account applications. A couple of years later I spent a LOT of time doing ETL and digging into older databases. So I have enough experience to be able to say this: This ex

I think that the original comment has some anecdotal truth - because the vast majority of people do not spend the effort required to speak their second/third languages without an accent. You have to do silly exercises and stuff for ver

It's bullshit. I can speak Dutch without an English accent and I learned the language in my 20s, having 0 exposure to it in my youth. There are to main sounds which are in Dutch but not English ([ui] and the hard [G]) and one which isn

Absolutely and that is why you can't use an HSM. Thankfully generating keys on device and storing them on the cloud account encrypted by a passcode works. As the keys are a predictable size you can encrypt them multiple times with diff

I like it when people like that work at banks. You can have a lot of fun with "pure REST APIs which provide CRUD operations" on bank accounts. Especially when the important business logic - such as credits and debits - are impleme

The logic has to run server side either way.. but that's obvious. Otherwise any idiot with an API key has full control over your system. That's why you don't "make a pure REST API which provides low-level CRUD operations

You literally have that same symptom with the flu.. or a cold. ME / CFS is a horrible disease. My younger brother was out with it for a year but I know several women for whom it has effectively been a life changing condition.
