I think that's a very good analogy. However once we accept that delicious is going to close, the question remains, what happens to the data? The publically available (non-private) bookmarks, tags and notes should continue to live. Perhaps a

Browngoods refers to Bakelite. Once, all radios / radiograms were made of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakelite

Big supermarkets also lease shelf space. So they are competing with their leasees products in two different segments.

The image seriously doesn't do the city justice. I spent 10 years of my life travelling the world, and Seville really is a jewel. Big time. My holiday snaps (are rubbish but) better portray the energy at ground level: http://bit.ly/e8KKCF

If there ever was a city on Earth who's beauty is worth 111 gigapixels, then surely it is Seville. If you ever get the opportunity, GO THERE.

Seems that link is completely dead. Maybe it's getting DDoSed by a disorganised horde of anonymous pro J2EE teenagers.

Actually I just realised that while my email wasn't in the dump, my username was. I didn't find it myself with grep, but I did find it using this utility: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1999373

I got a seemingly genuine email from Gawker entitled, "Gawker Comment Accounts Compromised -- Important" Although I don't believe my email address was in the dump.

OK, it finally loaded. It's an interview with a senior, "Check Captain" who happened to be in the cockpit at the time in addition to the normal crew. This was a major emergency and a lot more than just a single engine explosion.

I kind of agree. Although I think the underlying assumption is that it's an infrastructure as a service play, and so Twilio et al are creating value. Obviously their target market is the web app developer crowd. To do it yourself you need

We use Twilio, and I hadn't heard of Tropo. FWIW we're not totally over the moon with Twilio, and I've since discovered freeswitch, which is much more developer friendly and scalable than asterisk. It's all but persuaded me to roll our own
