I bought this as an audiobook on iTunes for a car trip or something, back in ~2006. It made a huge impact because its theories are so simple and easy to understand that, if you are even a novice programmer, you can probably imagine how you'

SnapNDrag. Looks like they've got an app in the mac app store now, but they also still have a free downloadable dmg, and it's totally worth taking a look. BTW, did you mean "Rediscover the joy..." It says "Rediscovery the joy..."

That's just it - for me, it seems like they achieved responsive design without being broken and annoying. But some of it is subjective, and I only saw the new design today. It might not hold up so well to heavy use.

This is a phenomenal implementation fluid layout. I've never seen it done so gracefully. Congratulations to your team. [edit: there might be a lot more than fluid layout involved with the redesign, but that is the most striking aspect for m

Resize the window to see how gracefully the site accomodates a wide range of window sizes (from a phone to a desktop monitor). [edit: After further reflection, I'm stunned by how well they pulled this off. Huge leap forward.]

Would you concede that there could be a security diff between JIT and not JIT? All Gruber is arguing is: 1) that there is a significant difference in security 2) that Apple didn't release any JIT for webkit all this time [edit: since

Agreed. I mean, here's the description of his first attempt at helping somebody with a computing problem: I looked at their code for a bit, saw that it was hopelessly inefficient and hand-assembled a much faster version using a look-up tab

Brands like Costco and Amazon make a huge chunk of change, but you don't see them getting into petty stuff like this. Is the following statement (from the article) false? As for ruthless profiteering, consider that Amazon, with their e-b

Somebody mentioned The Sirens of Titan (Vonnegut) in the comments below. I've gotta second that recommendation. It's Vonnegut's first novel, and probably not his best, but it's certainly my favorite. If you resonate at all with Vonnegut's h
