HN does not filter content before you read it, there's regularly a bunch of AI slop articles/blogs/ads that get to the front page for whatever reason

that is just simply wrong

LLM slop article about LLM slop. amazing how this stuff just gets instantly to the front page

that all sounds great, but what if we just use AI to increase velocity and implement a 996 work schedule to squeeze everybody?

why is this downvoted? I'm not aware of a single ISP that would willingly let VPN providers use their ip blocks for their exit nodes

I think logically you'd want the former. with a leak the group will get their hands on it anyways, might as well try to limit reach

and also that when you ask someone stuff, they might have adjacent insights or stories that then give you better insight than just asking an LLM or some kind of ideas/etc. might come to light.

if it's some automated behavior, yes. I'd like to know what it is, why it exists, how it works (how to avoid triggering it) and what they're doing to make sure it never happens again

a huge account like theirs should not be subject to automated actions like that. an entire gcp project deleted along with its persistent disks. how does that make any sense? nobody thought to call them or anything

if it wasn't something specific to their setup, it should be disclosed publicly, because this is a catastrophic incident that makes you think it could happen to you as well, and there's no way to know what could trigger it

I really think Google underestimates the damage they've done to their reputation with these. These incidents are rare, but they're common enough where you can't trust them reliably anymore, and if that's the case, why wo

yes, especially since this didn't seem to be exactly "private" where it was anything specific, it was just some kind of automated system without a human in the loop

I think so. I'm a GCP user and I'm afraid of hosting workloads there now. I've heard too many nightmare stories, and I thought Google would be proper and thus not be infested with these kind of problems that cheaper providers

could you clarify, did an automated process by Google delete a GCP project/account/resource(s)? like, what exactly were you seeing when trying to get access or see what happened?

seriously, is it possible to trust GCP with critical data/services at this point if you're not a billion dollar company? I'm exaggerating but someone said they got "auto banned" what if that happens to a small accou
