That's the idea! Like I said, there are representation issues because money is speech which gives the rich extra say in policy. So it's not exactly that simple, because of the anti-democratic pro-rich bias in our legislative syste

You misunderstand, I don't hate rich people, I want them to be accountable to a democratic system of governance aka paying their owed tax.

It's not about the special treatment, its about being equal under the law.

Tax loopholes which result in a lower effective tax rate. Lesser accountability for crimes. Ability to break any law which is penalized only with fines. Do you really not know what rich people can get away with in the US?

Really paying taxes is fine, we have representation issues to fix, but we all gotta pay our fair share. imo the problem is the special treatment of rich people and the way it encourages middle income people to act like temporarily embarrass

They're moving to Azure and had to fix up Azure first to be stable enough for GH to even consider moving. I'm guessing its a combo of Azure still not being stable enough and a byproduct of trying to move an entire company's o

They wouldn't have to "invent a crime", circumventing state interests in strategic technology is likely already illegal.

What's the accountability mechanism here? Make a big fuss online and hope the bad press outweighs the negligence?

I mean, sure, but at a certain point negligent incompetence is directly harmful and the motives or lack thereof are just context.

Big agree, at a certain point a company is big enough that their impact has to be managed democratically. I don't have an issue with effective leaders, the problem is that we reward a certain kind of success with transferable credits t

I think addressing climate change is more of a policy issue. I think most people are onboard with addressing climate change (modulo some cranks who are open to idea that the earth is flat and oil company ceos ig). It just doesn't trans

Everyone else on the planet is doing just fine our policymakers are just pretending like climate change isn't real. We could be investing in and subsidizing proven methods like mass transit, renewable energy, &c. Nobody has to be

They disabled the mirrors feature because they didn't want a bunch of accounts mirroring large repos and doing nothing else. Forgejo does support mirrors, just not codeberg.

Due to the extremely competitive nature of the US economy, a lot of people have to choose between career success (having money) and starting a family (which is expensive). I know a lot of women who want to have a family, but have struggled

Isn't the problem that Altman and his peers are calling the shots here? We could use robots to work less and spend more time enjoying life, but we can only imagine being crushed under a boot and starving.

Well its easy for the 1000 guys who control 50% of the total money supply to tell their CEOs and boards to push AI so they get a good ROI. Starting an epaper business would involve actual work and risk.

I know a lot of women who want children, but don't feel economically secure enough to make it happen. Wage stagnation hits hard because nobody makes enough to fund an entire family on their own.
