Considering I got offers of $65K, $83K and $95K fresh out of college this year, I would say they aren't looking for experienced developers.

While a lot of these changes are cool, I'm worried that starting to work with javascript just got a lot harder. Although, I do appreciate the Class foo extends bar {...} syntax, now maybe we can have one simple way of doing inheritance

Might want to instead pick up kids who are currently attending college. Myself, as well as many of my peers, work part time off campus during the semester. Many students are willing to work part-time, school part-time. Trying to pick them u

No, but considering that self taught programmers are considered to be good enough to hire on like any other programmer, I'd say we've made some progress. That can move someone away from a low wage job and into a salaried job. This

I'm not sure your responding to the problem the OP has. He isn't saying Python isn't good for all the things you've listen. He is saying that for starting off in an introductory classroom environment, python is too compl

I'll agree with you on that. I enjoyed math problems, but only until I grasped the concept. Then it became tedious. I then preferred to move on to more complicated problems. Probably why I like programming, because there is always a mo

I just went through the process of getting my post graduation job (Computer Engineer btw). Before I went to any interviews I asked my peers what sort of offers they got and it was all between $75-90K. I went to job interviews and when they

Then why did you introduce it as a "crowdfunding for Science site", if "crowdfunding is a smaller part of it"?

I tend to sit closer to the front to help myself concentrate. This helps me not get distracted on my own computer, but also it puts less distractions in front of me. Nothing is really out of your control as a student. Sure maybe the guy pla

Honestly, I think it is up to the student to decide. If they find they don't pay enough attention with a laptop in front of them, then they should stop pulling it out. If they feel like they barely get anything out of the lectures and

Your first complaint can be easily solved with a good text editor. I use sublime and it will handle whitespace differences when pasting. I haven't had any trouble pulling from webpages. Secondly, it isn't any harder to indent aft

Looks like the same idea, I'm pretty disappointed that Tile is only for iOS. Looks like a good implementation of the idea in this article.

Thats how markets work. If you feel it isn't worth $100, then don't buy it. You vote with your money.

I love the idea. It still needs more problems though. I kept hitting the regEx problem and failing because I've never done regEx in JavaScript. So adding more problems would be nice.
