A better C with coroutines is what I wanted.

I just want nice generics not scary ones :) I’ve managed to generic myself into a corner before with type constraints in C# as an example.

This is why I like Go and hope they don’t ruin it with a poor generics implementation. It fits in my head. My other usual language is C# which is starting to feel like a London bus at rush hour with feature burden.

We don’t even have a significant quantity of people with hardware in hand yet so I’d like to reserve judgement. At best we have some trite stats about single core performance but I’m interested to see whether or not this maps to reality on

When my wife and myself got together approximately 20 years ago we had a combined CD collection of about 1200 CDs with a ton of overlaps. Eventually the iPod came along and we ripped them all, kept the CDs for a couple of years but eventual

I think those who can, will. At least in this space. I'm on my third desktop build this year. One for myself, one for my daughter and one for someone else who is not paying for commuting now and has disposable income to join the PC gam

For me it's a huge ergonomic and health gain using a desktop after using a laptop for 10 years. To the point of being life changing again.

Indeed. Worth looking at the Thinkpads with this as well. A lot of the 3 year old discarded corporate units still have a couple of years of warranty left on them and Lenovo actually honour it!

I have a custom build Ryzen 3700X / 64Gb / 2TiB SSD sized desktop which is built heavy, large and silent. I use a Lenovo T495s as a terminal for it locally and remotely. It covers all use cases then.

It's a good point. Apple always had terrible QA. It just wasn't as bad as all the other vendors. The other vendors have possibly surpassed them now so it's more obvious.

I agree. My machine is a new modular one. You can have both with no compromises. It’s not even hard. And it works with open source operating systems! I doubt it will last 10 years though because it is modular. It will evolve.

I think this is something we need to fix with education. We spent so long meeting the user that it developed an expectation. For any piece of technology its peak function is always reached when the human meets it half way and makes a conce

I’ve worked out that breaking free from this is just not for the average person. If you have the power then stand outside and look in but there’s absolutely nothing you can do about the churn other than watch it burn. I’ll carry on educatin

1Blocker is a rip off. Wipr doesn't work properly. ABP lets a lot of ads through. There is nothing that approaches uBlock at all.

This was a complete deal breaker for me. Half the internet is unusable without a decent ad blocking implementation these days and a decent one is virtually impossible with the charred remains of the API they left behind. This was actually o
