What requirement could an ISP impose on you for you to be forced to migrate the intranet to IPv6 (because of PI-hole)? You could always place a small NAT-enabled router between your ISP's device and your home network. The only problem

I first got excited reading the article, but the following left me thinking that I won't use it: Weaknesses Maintenance Costs: As APIs evolve, the paths specified in JSON Patches might become obsolete, leading to maintenance o

Nothing which other companies couldn't catch up with if OpenAI would break down / slow down for a year (i.e. because they lost their privileged access to computing resources). Engineers would quit and start improving the competiti

OpenAI would deserve to get dumped by MS. Just like "the boss" dumped everyone, including his own principles. Maybe that's why Sam Altman is so eager to get billions and build his own datacenters.

If you rmb-click on the video and select "show controls", you will not only be able to seek, but you'll also be able to unmute it. I don't know why it was embedded with the controls hidden.

Looks somewhat creepy. The normal thing is not to uninterruptedly look at a person (which the camera is supposed to be). For example when you make a gesture of trying to remember something by looking somewhere else.

This is the kind of stuff I love to see at the top of HN, that application looks absolutely professional. When searching for "scripting" on the pages, I don't see any scripting support. Are there plans to integrate it? Also s

We should have learned by now that as soon as things go south, be it a radioactive leak or worse, it won't be any company which will cover the costs related to solving the caused problem. It will be the taxpayer.

I don't think lucid dreaming is a requirement for this. Whenever I dream my environment morphs into another one, scene by scene, things I try to get details from, like the content of a text, refuse to show clearly enough to extract any

This will be so exciting to watch, maybe as much as the first booster landing, or even more than it, if it succeeds. What I wonder about is why they never tested catching boosters with the ones they've been using all along. They know t

In Linux it's trivial to have long-running processes. In Android it's the opposite. So I wonder if I create a Python script which runs 24/7 and collects the sensor data, if it will get killed at will by the OS or if it just r
