Nice one :-) Sunday is free because it is 'overtime'. Workers are paid fixed pay per month. Suing for Sunday would not bring any extra money to worker.

Some rules "enforce themselfs". Unpaid overtime brings positive motivation for emplyers to broken. Paid overtime is negative motivations, and people are more likely to report it and sue due to lost money.

I can speek for Greece, where is ban on sunday work. For workers it just means they have to work unpaid (and undeclared) overtimes. If you wont to make people happy, just introduce double pay for overtimes and really enforce it!

Reputation is hard to fix. Mysql today is still considered 'toy' db, even trough it is very stable and has good features. I think they lost industries with most money (financial and enterprise) to Cassandra and other competitors.

I would recommend personal wiki such as ZIM. It comes with diary, todo lists, git integration... They also have similar guide: http://zim-wiki.org/manual/Usage/Getting_Things_Done.html

Funny, after some exposure to GNU codebase (including GCC) I used to thought, that evil M$ is trying to destroy free software, by poluting it with horrible code.

What I found even more sickening: polish cryptographers were in England for most of WW2, but were not trusted enough to decipher anything.

City hall != community. Eventually this will become just another tax on house, impossible to opt-out. In Germany you MUST pay for privileges such as TV or rain water disposal. There are many community networks build by volunteers, for examp

I would disagree. There are much more co-founders, programmers and investors within 10.000 miles radius :-) And if you have a family, LA is just impossible.

OT: Is there some way to scan referenced links for keywords and remove them from list? Perhaps some Firefox extension or GreaseMonkey script? I go here for hardware/software related news and this is just OT.

In my experience maintaining LRU queue has significant overhead. Random (hash based) displacement has almost zero overhead.

There is very good documentary how Machu Picchu was made on youtube. It goes into extensive details about water drainage, securing terraces against land slides and so on. And there are similar stone walls all over Greece.

Why? Do you have a task which requires that? What you want is called fork & join, pretty much standard in Java 8 and Scala.
