This is not really my experience, having worked at a number of companies. Everyone's desperate to hire as many good engineers as they can find, there's rarely a week when two qualified candidates walk in the door. Maybe other job

Is developer pay in Cyprus and Malaysia really so great, or do a few digital nomads just have their lives really well optimized?

I bought one, maxed out everything but storage -can anybody really justify the 2TB option? Fingers crossed it will work for lighter web dev work. I figure I'll know well within the 14 day return period. As a consultant, I work with a p

I think I'm somewhat in the same pattern. My background is that I quit my position as a team lead because I wasn't happy with the day-to-day experience. Now I work for myself (consulting, remote contract work) and I'm much ha

Building out MVPs for very ambitious clients, I'm so glad to be working with Serverless to manage my lambdas. I'm able to test locally and deploy in seconds, it's the most efficient dev setup I've ever had.

Well, another $12 billion subsidy is coming their way, I'm sure. But nobody would dare call farmers welfare queens... ( https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/19/us/politics/farming-trump... )

You can buy a fake social in Queens for $50. It's a deliberately flawed system because fixing it would utterly decimate the pool of cheap labor for the service sector. Source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics&#x2

I'm quite glad I've held onto my mid-2012 15 inch mbp all these years. I had the latest 2019 model for a job and it was a distinct downgrade. The 2012 model isn't much heavier or slower, has all the ports I need, and they key
