Pycharm's notebook debugger is top notch, but their notebook implementation is, imo, clunky and slow.

Vscode's notebook is quite good (as good as you consider it to be in comparison to pycharm), but on my system it always exhibits bugs: 'random' need to rerun code multiple times for the debugger to recognize changes, not term

Are there some usecases where conventional IDE isn't up to the job as the notebooks? I can imagine this to be so for data analysis where pre-loading heavy datasets saves time. Anything else?

I'd be so pleasantly surprised if the same model has remained the same. Everytime I see speedups in its generation speed I assume they've distilled the model further. The outputs subjectively also feel weaker. Surely someone has c

How do you explain the adoption of macs among programmers in general? Especially in universities, macs is all I can see.

Arguably the main reason of writing a blog is to collect and organize thoughts in one's mind. Especially when writing about technical topics/reviewing scientific literature.

Are there any interesting modern applications of diff. equations in computer science outside physics simulators, and 3d vision? Or some adjacent areas that would benefit from skillset of working with diff. equations?

There's no need to detail how individual bricks of a house will be laid out when discussing the overall plan of it. Current LLMs, from my experience, don't branch out too well when facing ambiguity, but rather pick the most likely

I think many people give up too quickly (as could perceived by those professionals who had to put sweat when learning how to put things back when they break). But a capable language model might serve as a debugger: "you're stuck?
