Love this, love the write up.. but on the amiga... the A500 had 6 bitplanes, not 5, also, with PAL being the most popular region, I'd say 320x256 was the more popular resolution over 320x200. 6 bitplanes are used for Hold and Modify (H

You're very kind to offer help like this, but from the article: "... the only way to fix it is to find terminal commands from discussion forums, type them in and hope for the best" quote seems apt.

Have you considered just adopting a faster cruising speed? Would this not solve all your problems by giving more room for error should someone behind you have to hit the brakes if you misjudge? Almost all cars can comfortably run 170 kph an

MS has had a tendency to do things differently for the sake of doing things differently (eg. for instance clip-space range/w from 0..1 instead of -1..1) but I love the candor in this document: "D3D9 and prior had a terrible Pixel

If they were being held back by the "legacy" parts of the OS, you might be right. But they're not being held back, rather, it's their unique selling point.. Arguably the legacy bits are the bits that work, the modern bit

Interference of a 193nm wave can only yield a 193nm wave, it being additive. I'm curious what is done to get to 7nm.

Really curious, how can - from a signal processing perspective - 100 applications of a 193 nm wave, come to define 7 nm features? This can't be additive, is there some form of modulation going on on the surface of the silicon? Anyone k

Just for completeness, AmigaBASIC, which came standard with the OS, is also one of these BASICs that were written by Microsoft.

ok, two other things that may be throwing you off, the input is a filesize, not a width, the result of filesize / 3 is always an integer (even if float representation,) and the result of sqrt(filesize/3) is also always an integer

toTest should be 128 * 128 * 3 to reflect 128 by 128 pixels of 3 bytes each, as would be the file size. edit: just to add, I think "width = sqrt(filesize/3)" would be a better version for newbies. Even better would be to repl

From the comments that precede it (3DPlatformer/platformer.c line 89-91), I think the idea is that the input is the size (in bytes) of the bitmap W * H * 3, where W == H and W is a power of two. So the input for a square bitmap as the

To just get it done? To win dirty? To just ship it? Why would a carpenter have to learn masonry to build a house? Because it makes for a better house? He might never make the house, better to build it out of wood.
