Not sure Joe specifically was likely to attain this, but I think a plumber is a lot more likely then most to hit this benchmark. He can start his own business, hire employees, etc. and he's reasonably well protected from competition.

I remember riding a bike pretty much everywhere within about a 20 mile radius of home (including a couple nearby small cities). (To be honest though I don't think any of our parents realized just how far we travelled or they might hav

They describe it as "fully-featured private Git repositories" so not a replacement for Google code. Also it's pretty inconceivable they'd retire Google Code early, forcing repos to move to a competitor, then introduce a

Because they've figured that the group of users remaining on older devices and actually caring that they run the latest software is pretty small and they don't want to dedicate the resources needed to support them.

Great write up. But does this mean that Google doesn't hold themselves to project zero's 90 days before disclosure? (Or have they realized that 90 days really isn't enough time?)

Well, if you work in the retention department, how else would your performance be measured except by the number of customers you retain? :-)

That one guy is the only one currently contributing code (a slight exaggeration, but very slight). That info by itself seems HN worthy as many of us have likely used Express as the "safe" choice when starting a new project. Time

Boiler + hot water circulation through radiators is also pretty common in US and will also use a low voltage thermostat. The only exception I can think of is older gas-powered steam boilers which may use a millivolt thermostat (which have

The only way this could possibly make sense is if it was somehow unsafe to walk near the schools...e.g. they are on major throughways without sidewalks. Otherwise how is walking from school to a nearby home different from walking home from

And good luck selling the unselfish AI to individual buyers :-). People buy SUVs because they perceive them as "safer" -- but clearly that safety comes at the expense of passengers in other smaller cars.

So every time there's oncoming traffic (or a person on a sidewalk nearby) you'd have to stop until they were past, just in case they decide to turn/step in front of you. As long as there are other actors in the world who may

I'd agree, but the 4S is probably the first one to really compete with a good point-and-shoot, and it also seems better then the 5 and/or 5S in several of the shots.

I remember that product. It seemed like a good idea, but it just couldn't keep up with writing at normal speed so we gave up on it. (You also had to put a special collar on the otherwise normal markers.)

How often do you get updates for your smart TV? For mine, practically never -- and I've also had the fun of climbing behind the TV to pull the plug because it froze up on several occasions. The TV works much better as a dumb TV, so I
