Nah he's right. They have a history of axing stuff with 0 care about personal or corporate users. Search 'Google graveyard' , etc. There may be a huge market, but your dev time will earn income for not many months/years.

And people that don't, often have to buy/run antivirus, anti-malware and rootkit scanners/cleaners. Say, do you run also without a firewall and keep mail and other ports open, just to prove you are less paranoid than the rest

It's all PR. The CEO statement, their businesses plan so far, etc. It's all PR until they IPO and stop subsidizing rides. Then, we'll see if they'll really survive as a taxi company.

But nodejs network, last time I checked, ran on one thread. Opening sockets doesn't run in vacuum. What you said may be true for multithreaded apps, but resources are shared in nodejs.
