I can't understand why they ever moved away from it. Magsafe on laptops is so much better than any other option: zero force "insertion", convenient breakaway if tripped over causing no damage to either side. Magsafe is fantas

This is non-responsive to my comments. Also, you're being unnecessarily unpleasant in these threads; I wish I had read down further before replying initially, but I'm done now.

Worldwide is not relevant, and mobile-vs-desktop dev is not relevant. Mobile-vs-web dev is probably a better metric. And developed, mature markets only. Anything else introduces the second- and third-generation tech gap inconsistencies.

It's not feigned. I'm astonished to learn how hard people will work for the (seemingly to me) false convenience of doing things on their phone which would be (to me) much more straightforward to do on a more suitable device. So I

In the US, it was a game called "pick up sticks", and it was tedious and sometimes impossible. So, this method is well-named at least! :)

I prefer TouchID over FaceID also. But I'm curious, why does FaceID work less well if the user has poor vision?

The traditional expression of this idea is "What Andy giveth, Bill taketh away". The names are different now, but they were always metonymic. And of course, those of us in the Motorola/Apple ecosystem didn't have the sam

I agree that he'd have been blindsided like the rest of us. And I agree that he would have put Apple first. That was never a part of my point though. Jobs had a very strong personality and very strong opinions. Also a good human moral

Which claim? That Jobs was not a monster or pedophile? I'm on absolutely solid ground there. Assuming you mean whether Jobs would intensely dislike Trump, then -- what can I say? You clearly don't know anything about the guy and t

I'm saying that personality-wise, Jobs would absolutely not have any tolerance whatsoever for Trumpism and its associated bozos. Of course Apple would observe US law. But the comment I responded to was calling Jobs a monster and likely

You are very wrong about Steve Jobs. It's easy to be wrong about Jobs, because he was iconoclastic and idiosyncratic. And very very public. And he did some personally, individually, shameful things. Especially in his 20s when he hadn&#

I appreciate your response, and your candor. I'll push back on one point: when I said "contradicts your story", I meant that the headline and the story (article content) are in conflict. So you do have a story/article, a

There are still some fun domains grandfathered into the .edu hierarchy, from back in the day when registration criteria was not-so-strict. .mil and .gov have always been too strict for ordinary folks though.

Are you predicting that OpenAI is out of business in 6-12 months? I'm not an AI booster, and I don't see "sustainable" in the current markets, but I'd take the other side of that bet!

In my mental model, the PDF is not a secret and can be stored anywhere -- encrypted, if desired, but it sounds like a public document. The safe combination is a secret, and obviously belongs in secret storage. In this specific example, if I
