Definitely not a technical limitation. ACH clearing (transaction information) happens multiple times per day. Originating bank sends a list of transactions to the clearing house, Receiving bank is notified of transaction pending. ACH settle

That's fair, but it turns out that indulging the denial does not lead to positive results either. So where does that leave us?

Planar surfaces do not attenuate as well as irregular surfaces. Same principle applies in the visual spectrum.

Why would the answer here be any different than when using a photocopier, brain, or other tool for the same purpose?

How is "Juneteenth" any less of a portmanteau than "Frappuccino"? It's been called Juneteenth for more than a century, and has been a state holiday for almost half a century. Wouldn't it be even more ridiculous

An LED running on continuous DC has no flicker, but PWM is not continuous DC, it's a square wave of some frequency. Incandescents have analog inertia in the filament which smooths the light output from the AC sine wave. This smoothing

I appreciate your thoughtful response, but I think you are being misled by the popular wisdom and where it is disconnected from ground truth. One phrase that jumps out, because it's a bit of a cliche, is "recreational drug abuse&q

Sometimes I listen to music explicitly for the way it makes me feel, emotionally and physically. That the "drug" is auditory (physical) instead of chemical (physical) does not change anything meaningful. Catholics do this too. In

GP demonstrates an overextrapolated idea of ancient science, suggesting ignorance but at least honest admiration. You demonstrate an overextrapolated idea of current cultural events, suggesting ignorance and also shallow dismissiveness. You

I think this can be resolved with verbosity, our old friends abstraction and modularization, and an unfamiliarly flexible parser.

Laws attempt to solve this problem with verbosity. It works pretty well but of course the exceptions are always interesting. But I think the domain of an AI-first PL would or could be much smaller. So the language is "lower-level&quo

It's a loaded word though, with psychological and social implications that far exceed the simple description of the act. Absent the psychology and society, what is it? Obnoxious dominant behavior, maybe. But in context, is it even obno

Athens GA is a big college town though. The dynamics and lifecycles are different. Agreed that being two hours from Atlanta is too far for high relevance.

Same behavior here. I use TouchID to log in several times per day, and am required to enter a password "to enable TouchID" about once per week. iOS and macOS both. This feels reasonable to me.

I would argue that it is the philosophy that is lacking. We are afraid of death. That's stupid. Any life model that fails to account for death, is flawed in the extreme. I prefer mine, but I certainly would not impose it on others.
